Between 17 January and 22 January 2015, there were repeated disturbances in cross Channel traffic as a result of four serious incidents – a fire on a HGV followed by three catenary trips. In accordance with the seriousness of these events, and as a part of the ongoing collective thinking it is carrying out to ensure the flow and safety of traffic and improve user satisfaction; the IGC asked Mssrs. Claude Gressier and Chris Gibb to conduct an independent investigation regarding the handling of the disturbances, and in particular how communication issues had been managed by the stakeholders.
